Boomerang Jets have been around for years - many years - and our various designs are tried, tested and loved by the thousands of pilots who have flown them.
The BOOMERANG SPRINT ARF kit is the cornerstone of our mid range jets. From our hugely successful Intro jet we developed the Sprint with many years and thousands of hours of flight time and customer feedback. You can be assured that every bit of the Sprint's flying characteristics have been finely honed to give the BEST all round experience - right from being the most docile handling jet for the first timers turbine experience to an incredibly capable aerobatic performer and great all round sports jet.
The Sprint has been designed to have a very light wing loading - that is one of the reasons we make it out of balsa and not composite materials. This also makes it super easy to repair should any damage occur during those first ventures into turbine flying - although even then we would be surprised if you caused any damage - it is that good to fly !
In addition a lot of sport jets at this size are severely limited by turbine choice. We want our customers to have choice - and one of the most important choices when you are buying a jet is turbine choice. A lot of customers will start learning to fly on their Boomerang whilst having eyes on that scale BAE Hawk or Hawker Hunter or other similar beauty. With the Sprint you can fit any size turbine case and then later on transplant it to another airframe or even share it between airframes.
The turbine is the single most expensive part of your budget - don't limit yourself to small case turbines if you have eyes on the future ! You've got every option covered with the Sprint - it will fly fantastically well on Merlin VT80 type turbines through to JetCat P80 and above - although we recommend limiting thrust to 100N for any turbines above - this is very easily done with most modern turbines.
We firmly believe this is The best flying ARF Trainer you can buy!
General airframe info:
The Sprint is a wood ARF kit with just a few fibreglass parts added..
The rail mounted nose leg retracts rearward, allowing for easy fitting of the trailing arm nose struts which have become so popular.
The fuselage accepts our 3.7 litre (125oz) fuel tank for longer flight times. There is more than enough room for smoke system etc.
Elan type wing fixing, simple and direct locking on to alloy rods.
Extra side areas on the fuselage and booms makes knife edge flight better than ever. Slow flight is remarkable, as you would expect of our designs. The slightly larger wing and flap area aids the usual ultra slow landing speed, typical of Boomerang Jets.
Wingspan 76 inches (1930mm) Length 73 inches (1854mm) Weight 7kg dry Turbine 12 to 22lb thrust Landing Gear Retract ready
